This form of giving has become so widespread that there are now many online sites for catering for the growing demand for friendship rings including diamonds and gold, sterling silver and other materials.

 

The very idea of a diamond ring is typically associated with romance, engagements and weddings. Sometimes friendship rings are also referred to as pre-engagement rings, and when they include an expensive diamond they might well be given to demonstrate a firm commitment to take a relationship a step further.

 

Nevertheless, the giving of diamond friendship rings does not have to reflect such a romantic interest but it may simply represent a very high level of appreciation for an outstanding friendship.

 

In the latter case, the two parties understand the exchange of friendship rings as a way of marking loyalty in their friendship and an expression of a wish that they should always keep each other in their thoughts even when a great distance separates them.

 

While diamonds remain associated with the upper end of the jewelry market, purchasing diamond friendship rings is not going to require you to take out a second mortgage. If you shop around carefully online you can find diamond rings for under $100.

 

Certainly if you are able to afford to pay a little more than this amount the range of available rings increases significantly. At the more expensive end of the market thousands of dollars you can find diamond friendship rings online selling at over $1,500.
